Who We Are
Based in the City of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, Raigmore Hospital is the flagship hospital for all of NHS Highland. With approximately 400 beds, the hospital covers all specialties and is a training hospital for nursing, medical and AHP staff. It is a regional cancer centre and is sited on a campus along with the innovative UHI House. The Medical Directorate, with 230 beds, cares for patients across a broad range of specialities including Cardiology, Respiratory, GI and Renal, Acute Medicine, ED, Infectious Diseases, Diabetes, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Medical for the Elderly, Neuro Rehabilitation.
The Role
The post holder will work closely with the senior nursing team to further develop a highly effective Directorate by creating an integrated, connected, collaborative patient centred service that will provide quality care to every person every day within Raigmore Hospital.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the wider nursing team, supporting SCNs to ensure safe and effective clinical practice, manage and develop the performance of the team. The post holder will also manage a portfolio of specialist / advanced nurses, supporting them to redesign services to contribute to the delivery of organisational objectives. A key area is to create a culture of continuous improvement where the patient is at the heart of the care we deliver.
Engagement with patients, relatives, and the wider nursing and support staff teams is a vital part of the Clinical Nurse Manager role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and compassionate, caring culture.
You will require to be a first level registered nurse, educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in acute healthcare. Ideally you will have at least 3 years working as a Senior Charge Nurse. You must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills alongside clear communication.
We can offer you a friendly and supportive working environment and opportunities to develop your leadership skills. The role is worked Monday to Friday with the post holder participating in the hospital duty manager rota.
A relocation package may be available.
