Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is recruiting two Clinical Physiologists or Clinical Scientists to support Neurophysiology services based at the Birmingham Treatment Centre and MMUH. The role covers EEG modalities, including sleep studies, ambulatory and portable EEG, plus independent nerve conduction clinics, with supervision of junior staff and involvement in quality assurance activities.

The post involves day-to-day service delivery, CPD engagement, and a rotation between BTC and MMUH

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Neurophysiology degree.
• Registration with the Academy of Healthcare Science or HCPC is essential.
• Undergraduates may be considered with ANS professional exams where applicable.
• Duties include EEG modalities (sleep, ambulatory and portable EEG) and independent nerve conduction clinics.

Responsibilities

• Performs a range of neurophysiology diagnostic tests and reports.
• Participates in the out-of-hours EEG rota (approximately every other Sunday morning).
• Collaborates with colleagues to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
• Rotates between BTC and MMUH (approx. 4:1).
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to QA, audits, and research.
