Join a team of experts and progressive thinkersOur Health and Care: Resolution team operates across all four offices, offering advice and assistance to health and social care organisations across a broad range of issues including clinical negligence, medical malpractice and human rights claims, inquests, Court of Protection and public law matters.
We are one of ten firms that act for the NHS Resolution, putting us at the heart of claims and complaints brought against the NHS. Our Clinical Negligence team is highly regarded for their work acting on behalf of NHSR and NHS Trusts and in the defence of clinical negligence cases. In addition, we undertake healthcare and medical malpractice and regulatory work for a range of private insurers and private sector health and social care providers.
The roleWe are seeking to recruit an additional clinical negligence/medical malpractice lawyer. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team with an excellent client base and high-quality work.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Management (under supervision) of a full caseload of pre-litigated and litigated matters for NHS Resolution and Insurers
- Development of relationships with NHS Resolution/Insurer clients and Trust/Insured clients
- Liaising with Primary Care practitioners of various specialties and backgrounds
- Supporting the Partners, Senior Associates and Associates with business development and projects
What we are looking for from you- 1 - 5 PQE
- Previous clinical negligence or defendant medical malpractice experience
- Ideally experience of claims against Primary Care practitioners
- Strong communication skills with a professional approach to work
- Confidence in working directly with clients
- An ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
- An aptitude for drafting and legal analysis
- A keenness to work collaboratively with colleagues at junior and senior levels
- Excellent project management skills
- The ability to provide supervision to more junior lawyers
- A practical and commercial approach
- An aptitude and willingness to learn new skills and gain an in-depth understanding of relevant healthcare sectors
