Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Newcastle upon Tyne

A highly regarded regional law firm, known for its strong reputation in clinical negligence, is looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its growing and well-accredited team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor who is seeking a new challenge within a supportive, progressive environment that prioritises both client service and staff development.

You’ll be joining a team that includes APIL, AvMA and Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel-accredited specialists and will take responsibility for your own caseload of clinical negligence matters. The role offers flexibility, with remote and hybrid working options available to suit your lifestyle.

About the Role:

You will manage a varied clinical negligence caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, including litigation where appropriate. The role also involves providing support to junior colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of clinical negligence claims independently
  • Handling all aspects of litigation, including drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements and preparing for trial
  • Offering technical advice and support to junior team members
  • Meeting individual and team performance targets
  • Liaising with clients and third parties in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Supporting the Head of Department in maintaining high service standards and achieving team goals
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent in clinical negligence
  • Strong track record of managing clinical negligence files independently with positive outcomes
  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Commercially aware and confident working in a target-driven environment
  • Comfortable mentoring or guiding junior team members
  • Proficient in case management systems and general IT
