We are looking to appoint a highly-motivated, enthusiastic, efficient and friendly person to be part of our Central Booking Line and Reception Team.

The Clinic Clerk within Integrated Sexual Health Services will work in a busy integrated sexual health environment, within a multidisciplinary team.

Shift patterns will be

Mondays - 07:45 - 19:00

Tuesdays - 07:45 - 19:00

Saturdays (1 in 4) 09:45 - 13:15

Main duties of the job

The Clinic Clerk within Integrated Sexual Health Services will work in a busy integrated sexual health environment, within a multidisciplinary team.

You will:

  • Work effectively as part of the reception and central booking telephone line teams across clinic settings in North Derbyshire, dealing with enquiries promptly, politely and effectively in all circumstances. This will involve asking clients sensitive questions.
  • Ensure clinic is conducted efficiently and is properly prepared to receive patients before clinic and secured after clinic sessions.
  • Use the Inform electronic patient records system to book, amend, and cancel appointments, as well as arriving patients coming into service
  • Observing and maintaining strict confidentiality with regards to any patients/family/staff records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act
  • Dealing appropriately with instructions or queries from staff, clinicians and partner organisations
  • Use the Inform electronic patient records system to book, amend, and cancel appointments, as well as arriving patients coming into service
  • Assist in clerical/administrative duties as required
  • Work flexibly to support the ongoing development of sexual health services, engaging in patient and public involvement in hubs and peripheral clinics as required
  • Responsibility for the waiting room including supporting patients who may be upset or have to wait longer than expected for their appointment

Integrated Sexual Health Services has clinics at our Wheatbridge and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital Site in additional to many peripheral clinics across Derby and Derbyshire.

DCHS employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.

  • Maths and English - GCSE Grade 4 / C or above
  • IT Qualification e.g. ECDL, CLAIT or the ability to demonstrate good IT skills
Experience and Knowledge
