Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Nurse to join our Surgical teams as a Clinical Matron. The role supports the delivery of the quality and safety agenda within the division, with a specific focus on emergency pathways and patient experience.

The ideal candidate will lead nursing teams, ensure clinical quality, and drive improvements in patient flow and outcomes within the medicine division and across surgical services.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualification with live NMC registration.
• Educated to Masters level or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
• First level degree or equivalent qualification in a subject relevant to role.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, professional and nursing managerial leadership to a group of wards in a clinical team/teams.
• Be identifiable, highly visible, authoritative and accessible to patients, carers and staff for assistance, advice and support.
• Ensure fundamentals of care are delivered to the highest standards, maintaining privacy and dignity and infection control.
• Represent the clinical speciality and the Surgical Division, deputising for the senior nursing team when required.
