Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead a team at a long-established mental health hospital, delivering high-quality care across two acute wards. The role includes on-call duties and close collaboration with the Hospital Manager.

You will oversee clinical governance, staff development, and regulatory compliance while guiding a multi-disciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• An experienced RMN/RNLD with a valid pin and at least four years’ nursing experience.
• Currently working as Clinical Manager or Ward Manager or with senior nursing leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, clinical skills, and compliance/regulatory knowledge.
• Excellent relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in acute, rehab, mental health or forensic psychiatry settings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest standard of clinical care is provided.
• Coordinate all clinical aspects of the hospital and ensure cooperation between clinicians.
• Know and implement relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
• Update legal documentation in line with company guidelines, NMC guidelines, legislation and current research.
• Support staff through appraisals, training and development of evidence/research-based practice.
• Stay up to date with statutory law and compliance to law.
• Work closely with Hospital Manager to resolve concerns and provide cohesive leadership.
• Act up as required by the Hospital Manager.

You will be joining our team on a full time, 40hrs per week basis.

Please note this role carries the responsibility of on call duties in support of the Hospital Manager.

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate is a long-established mental health hospital that provides an emergency admissions service across two acute wards.

Your day-to-day…

• Ensure that the highest standard of clinical care is provided
• Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the hospital & ensure co-operation between clinicians
• Know & implement all relevant policies, procedures & regulations
• Update legal documentation in consultation with other colleagues in accordance with company guidelines, NMC guidelines, legislation & current research
• Support staff in delivering a high standard of care through regular appraisals, training & development of evidence/research-based practice
• Be fully up to date with all statutory law & compliance to law
• Work closely with the Hospital Manager to resolve concerns & provide cohesive leadership
• Act up as required by the Hospital Manager.

You…

• An experienced RMN/RNLD with a valid pin number and at least four years’ nursing experience
• Currently working as a Clinical Manager or Ward Manager or have significant experience in a Senior Nursing role
• Have strong leadership & clinical skills, as well as compliance & regulatory knowledge
• Are an excellent relationship manager – with internal & external stakeholders
• Have experience in an acute, rehabilitation, mental health or forensic psychiatry setting
• Have evidence of functioning in a supervisory role as a clinician in a similar setting within a multi-disciplinary team.
