Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals' mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Liaison & Diversion Practitioner to join our team in West Yorkshire.
Hours - Monday to Friday; 8am - 6pm
Some weekend working may be required
Salary -This position is full time and you will receive a salary of £42,094 to £47,446 depending on experience
Location - West Yorkshire Region;
Havertop Police station,Kirklees - Huddersfield Police station and Kirklees Magistrates court (located in Huddersfield)
Bradford- Trafalgar House & Calderdale - Halifax Police Station

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.What you'll be doingAs a Clinical Liaison & Diversion Practitioner your responsibilities will vary. You will
- You will work autonomously in court and police custody suites, to identify and respond to requests of screening and assessment of people with identified health needs in contact with the criminal justice system.
- Use validated tools to assess for several identified health needs and utilising information accordingly to inform decision-making, and facilitate diversion within and out of the criminal justice pathway and, creating a clear individualised support plan. This will including preparing accurate written reports such as a court report following assessment in line with quality standards
- You'll lead support team with safeguarding, have clinical responsibility of the rota and managing staffing shortages and skill mix.

Qualifications and skills required:- Qualified Registered Mental health Nurse, Mental Health or Social Worker with current registration with the relevant professional body.
- Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Awareness of substance misuse services and support available
- Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
