The Centre for Oral, Clinical and Translational Sciences (COCTS) brings together discovery and clinical scientists combining efforts aimed at improving oral and dental health through research and innovation leading to translation. The Centre is in an exciting phase of renewal with significant investment into state-of-the-art interdisciplinary science laboratories and support of translational and clinical research.
Members of the centre have international reputations in mineralised tissue research, biomaterials, tissue engineering, device and diagnostic technology development, computer science and AI, and clinical research. Strong educational support is provided to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and we seek to appoint an academic that will strengthen and diversify the capacity of the centre in both research and education.
We are aiming to recruit outstanding clinical academics who will help shape the future of the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at King's College London.
Roles are advertised at all seniority levels with the option of applying for either an Education and Research (E&R) pathway or Academic Education Pathway (AEP)
For both pathways the role offers the opportunity to provide academic and clinical leadership in Restorative Dentistry, shaping the future of undergraduate and postgraduate dental education at King's. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supporting the development of innovative curricula.
E&R post-holders will champion internationally leading research in Dentistry and Oral Health Sciences that advances the strategic priorities of the Faculty, the College, and King's Health Partners (KHP), securing funding, generating internationally leading outputs, and developing the next generation of clinical academic leaders.
AEP post-holders will contribute to enhancing educational quality and innovation with a pathway that provides appropriate recognition, reward and opportunities for advancement. They will play a key role in the leadership of Integrated Clinical Care services at Guy's Hospital.
For all roles there will be an expectation to deliver outstanding patient care in line with professional standards while fostering strong partnerships with the NHS and wider stakeholders to translate research and teaching into tangible clinical impact.
