Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust in Lancaster is seeking a Band 6 Clinical Leader for the Cardiac Care Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with internal night rotation and a permanent contract.

You will provide clinical leadership on the CCU, drive service development, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality cardiac care.

Qualifications

• 1st level registered nurse with current registration.
• Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in the field.
• Willingness to undertake further job-specific training.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 clinical lead with relevant post registration experience to join our team on the Cardiac Care Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The Cardiac Care Unit cares for patients with a variety of acute cardiac conditions, including provision of Non-Invasive ventilation such as CPAP and High flow nasal oxygen.

The unit has the ability to perform procedures such as insertion of temporary pacing wires, trans- oesophageal echos, pericardiocentesis and cardioversion.

Working for our organisation

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Education and Qualification

• 1st level registered nurse

• Evidence of clinical competence in speciality
