Job description

We are looking for a Clinical Lead to support the Vaccination and Living Well service until 31 March 2026. The role will be connected to the Trust's vaccination hub in Cheshire West and also involves working across Cheshire and Merseyside on the Living Well Service bus clinic sessions as required.

This post is part time 26.25 hours per week, fixed term until 31/03/2026.

Main duties of the job

Our Clinical Leads oversee a small team of healthcare professionals and volunteers and will coordinate seasonal COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinics, provide a catch up offer for all UK routine immunisations and offer a range of physical health checks to targeted communities across Cheshire and Merseyside. You will provide clinical oversight to deliver mobile clinics, ensuring a safe, effective and accessible experience for people attending.

Appropriate training and supervision will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with registered nursing qualification or equivalent
  • Registered Health Care Professional e.g. NMC/GPhC or GMC for doctors
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Knowledge of immunisation schedules in accordance with national recommendations
  • Proficiency in delivering high quality evidenced based care
  • Knowledge of cold chain management and maintenance
  • To be able to demonstrate continuing professional development
  • Knowledge and use of computer to include microsoft word, internet access and email communication

Experience

  • Evidence of working autonomously and autonomous decision making
  • Significant experience of working within a community healthcare setting or similar role
  • Experience of mentoring /supporting junior staff
