Job description

+ To operationally lead and develop the tissue viability nursing team, promoting best practices and continuous professional development.

+ Provide expert clinical advice and support to healthcare professionals on wound care management, pressure ulcer prevention, and complex tissue viability issues.

+ Develop, implement, and audit policies, protocols, and care pathways related to tissue viability.

+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and reduce incidence of pressure ulcers and wounds.

+ Lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

+ Contribute to staff education, training, and development programs.

+ Represent the service in clinical governance meetings and external forums across the trust.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Lead to lead our Tissue Viability Nursing Service. This is a pivotal role responsible for providing clinical leadership, expert advice, and governance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the Northumbria Healthcare trust.

+ Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.

+ Specialist qualification or significant experience in tissue viability nursing.

+ Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake and complete this within 2 years of appointment.

+ Proven leadership experience in a clinical nursing role.

+ Strong knowledge of wound care products, assessment tools, and evidence-based practice.

+ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

+ Flexibility and willingness to work across a 7-day service.
