An exciting opportunity has arisen at NHS for a Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist in Chichester. This pivotal role involves leading a team of therapists, providing supervision and clinical advice while managing a caseload of children. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in mainstream schools and strong clinical skills. The position offers excellent training and development opportunities within a supportive network.
Due to the retirement of the current post holder we have an exciting opportunity in our Mainstream Team in the Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service in Chichester. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 7 to jointly lead our mainstream team of Speech and Language Therapists and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. These sessions are part of the Mainstream Clinical Lead role shared with an experienced colleague.
Within this role you will carry a mainstream caseload. You will provide supervision, second opinions and clinical advice to other members of the mainstream or locality team. You will also provide expert clinical advice alongside the Professional Lead for SLT as part of the SEND Tribunals process as required.
The role has a high clinical component and excellent clinical skills with at least 3 years experience in mainstream schools is required. Some previous experience of supervision & management would be an advantage. This role dovetails with those of the Early Years , Preschool Complex Needs and Special Schools B7s to provide a comprehensive offer. The ideal candidate will be able write complex clinical reports based on assessment findings. They will have knowledge and skills suitable to be able to contribute to projects, data collection and strategic developments within the relevant pathway.
Some experience of managing or supervising a small team would be an advantage.
