Job description

NHS Sefton Talking Therapies provides NHS Talking Therapies services to the communities of South Sefton and Southport & Formby on behalf of the NHS. Based primarily in Bootle and Southport, practitioners deliver a range of therapies up to and including Step 4 interventions.

Main duties of the job

The role of Clinical Lead offers strategic clinical leadership of the service and is jointly responsible with the Service Manager for planning, developing, and delivering a high-quality, responsive, and accessible NHS Talking Therapies service. You will support the Deputy Clinical Lead and Step Leads with clinical decisions, act as the point of contact for practitioners, and promote best practices while demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. Building positive relationships with key stakeholders is essential to ensure NHS Sefton Talking Therapies remains a respected and valued partner within the evolving mental health landscape. You will represent MHM at local, regional, and national levels by engaging with the ICB, partner agencies, and clinical forums. This role is suited for passionate and creative individuals interested in clinical service development, staff support, and delivering exemplary care in an NHS Talking Therapies setting.

Our Talking Therapy team includes Psychological Therapists working across steps 2, 3, and 4, delivering NICE-guided talking therapies via telephone, group sessions, face-to-face, and digital platforms.

Salary: £64,445 - £74,896 per annum (NHS AFC Band 8b)

Location: NHS Sefton Talking Therapies, Stella Nova, Bootle, L20 4TZ

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed-term for 13 months

You must be accredited with BABCP as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and qualified in at least one other psychological therapy model. You will also be expected to represent MHM at various levels and demonstrate passion for service development, staff support, and delivering excellent care.
