We are looking for someone who is keen to gain experience leading high quality care and work within a diverse community and workforce.

The successful candidate will have proven clinical leadership skills and experience across cardiorespiratory services in acute in- and out-patient settings, with demonstrable compassionate and inclusive leadership skills. They will also have evident research and education experience, alongside experience in implementing change and innovation in clinical practice.

Part-time and flexible working will be considered and the successful candidate will be encouraged and supportedto undertake a suitable accredited senior leadership apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job

The role involves leading a team of dedicated physiotherapists, speech and language and occupational therapists to drive forward the development of cardiorespiratory clinical practice, research and standards of care. You will contribute to service evolution, in collaboration with colleagues across Clinical Groups and sites. The post has an active physiotherapy clinical component, holding a complex clinical caseload commensurate with grade and ensuring strong oversight of patient needs. The area of specialism is open for discussion.

You will be responsible for leading the operational delivery, clinical governance and development of the physiotherapy, speech and language and occupational therapy teams within the Heart, Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group at St. Thomas' and Guy's Hospitals sites, serving the local community and South East Region of England. You will drive quality and ensure equity of care for all patients with cardiorespiratory need across all Clinical Groups, and contribute to the development of a creative, resilient and productive trust-wide Therapies workforce.

You will be expected to work closely in partnership with the Senior Consultant Physiotherapist, Heads of Profession and Chief AHP, to inform the development of trust-wide cardiorespiratory therapies strategy and support the development of knowledge, an inquiring culture and research activity.
