A leading NHS trust in Doncaster is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join their Stroke Pathway team. The role requires operational management, clinical expertise, and collaboration across healthcare services. Ideal candidates will be experienced in managing complex cases within acute settings and committed to service development and patient care.
Job summary
To provide operational management in the Physiotherapy team in acute stroke and neurology and clinical expertise leadership across the Stroke Pathway.To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs of patients.To act as a point of contact for other agencies for issues relating to Physiotherapy provision.To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.To ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available within the physiotherapy team.To work with other members of the team in the development of the service.To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the specialty area.
Main duties of the jobTo act as lead source of clinical expertise within Physiotherapy.
o To act as a point of contact for external agencies and provide advice and guidance with regard to the service.
o To hold responsibility for managing own caseload within an agreed defined area.
o To assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy intervention to meet the assessed needs of patients.
o To ensure assessment / treatment is completed in the most appropriate environment.
o To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work and support junior staff to do the same.
o To provide specialised and highly specialised advice to colleagues with regard to the Physiotherapy management of patients with complex and highly complex needs.
