Clinical Lead Officer

Location: Southampton
Contract: Permanent, Part Time - 20 hours per week
Salary: Up to £31 273.78 (FTE) depending on experience

Options Wellbeing Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Lead Officer to oversee and support the clinical delivery of our counselling and wellbeing services. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, ensuring that our services are safe, ethical, high-quality, and aligned with professional guidelines and best practice.

About the Role:

As Clinical Lead Officer, you will:
  • Ensure clinical governance and quality assurance across all client work.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for assessment, case allocation, and safeguarding.
  • Support the recruitment, induction, and development of Volunteer Counselling Trainees and Associate Counsellors.
  • Act as a key contact for clinical supervisors, associates, and third-party contractors.
  • Drive continual improvement in client experience, assessment tools, and service impact reporting.
  • Facilitate peer support groups and deliver relevant CPD.
  • Contribute to the Trust's commitment to BACP ethical compliance.
What We're Looking For:

Essential:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar clinical or counselling role.
  • Membership of BACP (or other appropriate professional body).
  • Significant clinical experience (5+ years).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding procedures and case monitoring.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
  • Enhanced DBS check (required).
Desirable:
  • Completed clinical compliance training.
  • Clinical Supervisor qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience liaising with counselling training providers.
  • Understanding of GDPR, Equality and Diversity, and Health & Safety legislation.
