Job description
Overview

Description

Are you an expert in UK healthcare claims data and clinical coding? If you're analytical, have experience in healthcare coding standards and delivering strategic programmes, this could be the role for you.

You'll oversee, set standards for, monitor, and ensure improvement of AXA Health's claims and healthcare data integrity. You'll develop the AXA Health strategy for clinical coding and lead the programme to transform the quality and accuracy of our health claims data. By setting a clear vision and objectives to enhance how we capture key information, develop systems to support structured data and re-engineering processes where required, you will grow our claims data capability and enable the business to make robust, data led decisions. You'll also be responsible for regular reporting and audits on claims data quality, ensuring compliance and accountability.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at our Tunbridge Wells or Bournemouth offices, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing
  • Work with Data teams across AXA Health and AXA UK & Ireland to set goals and objectives for claims data quality.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assurance on the use of healthcare and claims data in AXA Health operational and development activity (including pre-authorisation and invoice payment, specialist preferencing and sourcing).
  • Develop the AXA Health clinical coding strategy, identifying key system, process and reporting development requirements.
  • Hold AXA Health to account through regular reporting and audits on the quality of information coding.
  • Deliver and support delivery of pragmatic solutions to address where the current quality of coding and data requirements could be improved.
  • Build and develop clear lines of communications across all areas of ownership and wider stakeholders, ensuring regular updates enabling colleagues to be kept informed and engaged.
  • Lead design and delivery of our specialist preferencing and sourcing activity as both subject matter expert and day to day clinical lead.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical and data colleagues to foster collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies regarding data management.
  • Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.
What you'll bring
  • Demonstratable understanding and background in UK condition coding.
  • Expertise in leading multi-disciplined teams and strategic projects.
  • Relevant clinical qualification and experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in effectively implementing healthcare coding standards in claims authorisation and billing processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to guide and support colleagues to design, deliver, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Relationship management, influencing, networking and presentation skills.
  • Wider experience in clinical data management or healthcare analytics.
  • Awareness of the regulatory and compliance environment affecting AXA Health processes.
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
