Jobbeschreibung

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead GP to join an established urgent care service, providing clinical leadership across two Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) in the Sandwell and wider Black Country.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP looking to combine their clinical expertise with a senior leadership position, playing a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, clinical governance and service development.

Working closely with the Service Manager, Medical Director and wider clinical leadership team, you will help ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care while supporting and developing the wider clinical workforce.

The Role

As Clinical Lead GP, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership across both sites, alongside undertaking clinical sessions and supporting the day-to-day running of the service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical consultations and assessing patients presenting with acute primary care conditions.
  • Offering clinical leadership, guidance and support to GPs and other clinical colleagues.
  • Supervising and supporting the wider clinical team.
  • Leading clinical audits, quality improvement projects and clinical performance reviews.
  • Supporting the service to achieve its KPIs and national service requirements.
  • Overseeing clinical governance, patient safety and quality assurance.
  • Identifying clinical risks and supporting the investigation of incidents, complaints and escalations.
  • Working closely with safeguarding leads to maintain excellent safeguarding standards.
  • Supporting CQC compliance and adherence to NHS policies and clinical governance requirements.
  • Providing clinical assurance and reporting to the Medical Director.
  • Supporting GP recruitment, including application reviews and interviews.
  • Working alongside other clinical leads to provide cross-site support where required.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a fully qualified GP with strong primary care experience and a genuine interest in clinical leadership and service improvement.

To be considered, you will need:

  • MBBS or an equivalent medical degree.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Completion of GP training and CCT (or recognised equivalent).
  • MRCGP or equivalent.
  • Inclusion on the relevant Medical Performers List, without restrictions that would prevent you from undertaking the role.
  • Experience working within primary care, ideally including urgent or out-of-hours services.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience managing acute primary care presentations.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance, audits and risk management.
  • Experience supporting, supervising or developing other clinicians.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check.
What's on Offer?
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Opportunity to take on a senior clinical leadership position across two urgent care sites.
  • Professional development, training and team-building opportunities.
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24-hour support.
  • 10 days' paid sick leave per year.
  • Family-friendly policies covering maternity, paternity, adoption and fertility leave.
  • Employee recognition and long-service awards.
  • Blue Light Card discounts.
  • Eye tests and contributions towards spectacles.
  • Workplace savings and low-interest loans.
