This is a fixed-term/secondment position until 31st March 2027, supported by available funding.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join HEIW on a secondment basis to support the development of Research and Innovation Transformation across Healthcare Science, Nursing, AHP, and all health professionals within NHS Wales.
The position is for a 0.6 whole-time equivalent, part-time, flexible basis, to be mutually agreed. It is open to all professionals with NMC or HCPC registration, or those on accredited healthcare science registers.
The postholder will collaborate with the Programme Manager for Healthcare Science and the Associate Director for Workforce Transformation, as well as other HEIW functions. The role involves working within a small team, leading the Healthcare Science Research and Innovation Group, and supporting developments in Research and Innovation to facilitate Workforce and Service Transformation.
Applicants wishing to apply as a secondment must have approval from their line manager. The secondment may be extended depending on funding and business needs.
This is a key role within the HEIW Nursing, Health Professions and Quality Directorate and the Healthcare Science Programme. Responsibilities include leadership, strategic planning, and management of healthcare science transformation, extending to wider NHS healthcare professions. The post involves supporting a matrix management structure supporting the Head of Healthcare Science Transformation and collaborating with colleagues across NHS Wales.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome.
