Job description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Child Psychotherapist, Systemic Family Therapist or CBT Therapist to join our busy and dynamic CAMHS team in Barking and Dagenham. This post has been created following a recent consultation as the service moves to a new i-THRIVE informed model of delivery. We have a growing and supportive therapy team and are looking for an experienced CAMHS practitioner who is passionate about young people’s mental health and well-being to join us in the delivery of high quality and effective CAMHS interventions. This role requires a post-graduate qualification in clinical, or counselling psychology, Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Child Psychotherapy and you must be registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, ACP , BABCP, or UKCP) and have experience in delivering Psychological Therapies in a children’s community mental health setting.

This post involves assessing and treating children and young people who present with a moderate to severe mental health difficulties in a community CAMHS setting. The successful candidate will lead a newly established clinical pathway and support a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working alongside Medical Consultants, the Head of Service and Clinical lead for CAMHS to support the team in the management and oversight of high quality evidence-based treatments.

The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision and will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings as well as network meetings and working with key stakeholders in the community. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health, education and social care professionals and partnership agencies as well as driving high standards within the service. CPD opportunities will be available and are well supported in the team.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 per annum pro rata).
