We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Child Psychotherapist, Systemic Family Therapist or CBT Therapist to join our busy and dynamic CAMHS team in Barking and Dagenham. This post has been created following a recent consultation as the service moves to a new i-THRIVE informed model of delivery. We have a growing and supportive therapy team and are looking for an experienced CAMHS practitioner who is passionate about young people's mental health and well-being to join us in the delivery of high quality and effective CAMHS interventions. Main duties of the job

This role requires a post-graduate qualification inclinical, or counselling psychology, Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Child Psychotherapy and you must be registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, ACP , BABCP, or UKCP) and have experience in delivering Psychological Therapies in a children's community mental health setting.

This post involves assessing and treating children and young people who present with a moderate to severe mental health difficulties in a community CAMHS setting. The successful candidate will lead a newly established clinical pathway and support a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working alongside Medical Consultants, the Head of Service and Clinical lead for CAMHS to support the team in the management and oversight of high quality evidence-based treatments.

The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision and will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings as well as network meetings and working with key stakeholders in the community. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health, education and social care professionals and partnership agencies as well as driving high standards within the service. CPD opportunities will be available and are well supported in the team.

About us

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. Job responsibilities

1. To provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist psychological service for children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families

2. To contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families

3. To undertake a range of highly specialist clinical work, urgent assessment work, parenting support and specialist cases.

4. To provide extensive expert supervision and consultation on CAMHS cases to other multidisciplinary staff within CAMHS, including junior medical staff.

5. To contribute to audit and research

6. To actively engage in treatment and outcome monitoring, including the use of normed measures associated with CYP-IAPT

7. To work in clinical practice, making use of supervision, within the overall framework CAMHS and the Trusts policies and procedures

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner (e.g. psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or graduate qualified health care professional
• First level degree or standard equivalent
• Must have post graduate qualified psychological practitioners' qualification
• Must be registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, ACP , BABCP, or UKCP)

Experience

• Extensive experience of working with children and adolescents with co morbid difficulties and special needs.
• Extensive clinical experience of working with children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions
• Extensive experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems
• Extensive experience of multidisciplinary working in eating disorders services for children and adolescents
• Experience of using observation, generic assessment and specialist assessments
• to determine the most appropriate treatment plan from a range of options for the child/young person.
• Experience of initiating, organising and planning inter -agency meetings aimed at setting in place a treatment package tailored to the individual needs of a child/young person.
• Extensive experience of clinical supervision and providing professional teaching and training for other professionals working with the client group within the service and within related agencies

Knowledge
