Job Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead in an exciting new area of Dietetics? Do you want to make an impact on the nutrition of future generations within ABUHB?

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to oversee the Early Years Dietetic provision as part of the Healthy Weight Healthy Gwent programme.

The post holder will develop effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, such as health visitors, flying start officers, pre-school workers, nursery settings, and local authority childcare settings.

This role involves liaising with statutory sectors, voluntary groups, and organizations to promote Early Years Nutrition Skills For Life training, ensuring accessible nutrition information and training, identifying areas for improvement, and addressing barriers.

They will facilitate the continuous education and development of dietitians, support staff, and students within their team.

This role is based at Ty Gwent in Cwmbran but covers the entire ABUHB area.

Main duties of the job

This role is responsible for shaping and delivering the Early Years Healthy Eating agenda across Gwent. The post holder will work with external stakeholders to expand the Healthy Early Years Nutrition offer.

They will develop integrated early years nutrition training and support packages, ensuring nutrition is central to future service development.

The post-holder will be an expert practitioner, providing clinical and professional leadership in early years nutrition across Gwent.

They will advise, guide, and mentor dietitians and others, ensuring high standards of clinical and professional practice.

They will also handle project management tasks, including financial reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
