We are currently recruiting for an experienced Dietitian to continue with delivering the Nutritional Services for the Gender Affirmation Surgery (GAS) service within the Trust on our Chelsea site. This established role, in place for the last 2 years, is required 2 days (15 hours) a week (Wednesday & Thursdays). Initially 1 year fixed contract.
The post holder will be responsible for engaging with the Gender affirmation MDT and service to review and improve suitable pathways for nutritional intervention for this affirmation surgery. They will carry a case load to deliver nutritional pre-op and post op advice and applyappropriate, patient-centered and compassionate care where nutritional interventions are beneficial. This population often requires nutritional advice and support for issues with weight management (loss and gain), disordered eating and body changes associated with gender dysphoria, blood lipid and sugar abnormalities, blood pressure, impact of hormone therapy on shape and bloods and general wellbeing. In addition, they will be required to set up audit, reviews and feedback to further the development of good practice and clinical effectiveness of the Dietetic GAS service.
Applicants should have extensive clinical experience in dietetics, understand service needs for such a service and have experience of leading service improvement and engaging with senior stake holders to influence change.
