We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Lead to join our dedicated team.
As a Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading our nursing team to excellence.
What does the job role involve?
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Demonstrate excellent clinical leadership with a sound understanding of change management principles.
- Champion independence and personal choice – develop, review, and update care plans to meet residents' changing physical, social, and psychological needs.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines – risks are proactively managed, and issues identified, investigated, and resolved.
- Lead the nursing team in the delivery of safe practice within company policies and procedures, professional standards, and resource protocols, ensuring staff understanding.
- Oversee all aspects of medicine management – ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored, and administered.
- Conduct care audits – monitor standards of care and take corrective action where appropriate.
- Adhere to the NMC professional code of conduct, investigating and implementing recommendations as required.
- Implement and ensure appropriate reporting of incidents affecting residents and staff, maintaining legal documentation.
- Ensure care complies with professional standards through educational and clinical audits, using recognised tools to monitor and evaluate care, and encourage quality initiatives.
- Act as a supervisor, teacher, and mentor to nursing team members, supporting professional and mandatory development, including health and safety issues.
- Ensure Care Assistants receive appropriate induction and training to promote quality care.
- Participate in the clinical supervision programme, promoting supervision modes for staff, making it part of the home's practice.
- Address and prioritise self-development needs to meet revalidation requirements.
- Conduct annual staff appraisals as delegated by the Home Manager.
- Promote professional and supportive attitudes among staff towards residents, relatives, and colleagues.
- Participate in home meetings as required.
- Act as a credible and visible team leader in clinical care, promoting the organisation's image.
- Lead the home professionally in the absence of the Home Manager/Deputy Manager as assigned.
- Contribute to nurse training, ensuring staff stay up-to-date with current practices and research developments.
- Support the development of oneself and others, ensuring team skills and knowledge meet changing needs.
- Advise nursing and ancillary staff regarding revalidation, study days, and training in liaison with the Home Manager.
- Target training and development to meet home objectives and needs identified through performance reviews and assessments.
- Perform any ad hoc duties necessary for service delivery.
What makes a successful candidate:
- Proven experience in a senior nursing or clinical lead role.
- Registered Nurse with an active NMC pin.
- Previous 3-5 years experience working in a nursing home.
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical best practices and regulatory standards.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding care and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities.

- Full-time contract.
- Monday – Friday, with weekend work (1 in 4 a month), on-call as required.
- 28 Days Annual Leave including bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time).
- Hourly rate: £24/hour, Salary: £50,000/year (full-time hours).
