Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Governance Lead to provide clinical leadership for governance, quality and patient safety within Anaesthetics. You will support incident investigations, manage complaints, oversee policies and guidelines, and promote continuous learning and improvement.

Leading governance activities, you will chair meetings, deliver updates to governance forums, and drive risk management and service improvements across peri-operative pathways.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety.
• Evidence of effective communication and collaborative working.
• Demonstrable clinical leadership experience within anaesthetic or peri operative services.
• Experience in Trust-wide or system-level clinical groups.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents related to anaesthetics and facilitate learning.
• Coordinate response to complaints with senior clinical leadership.
• Review and renew anaesthetic policies and guidelines.
• Chair monthly anaesthetic governance meetings.
• Provide governance updates and assurance to forums.
• Lead routine governance decisions and risk discussions.
• Contribute to mortality and morbidity reviews.
• Promote sharing of guidelines and learning from incidents.
