We need a qualified Psychologist who is passionate about helping people with complex mental health needs. Joining us on a part-time basis, you will work 20 hours per week.

Cygnet Acer Clinic:

Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 28-bed service providing assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs or acute mental health needs.

Acer Upper:

Acer Upper at Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 14-bed acute mental health service for women. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals experiencing an acute episode of mental illness requiring emergency admission.

Cygnet Acer Clinic is rated 'good' by CQC across all five domains.

Your Day-to-Day

In this role, you will supervise two full-time Assistant Psychologists and lead psychological assessments with females with personality disorder on Acer Lower, while also supporting patients on our Acute ward on a referral basis.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Carry out psychological assessments and provide therapy to individuals and groups
  • Develop care plans collaboratively with the MDT
  • Provide training and supervision to colleagues and consultation to teams
  • Evaluate the service, contribute to its development, and carry out clinical research
  • Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications
Person Specification
General Requirements
  • HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with experience in a clinical, forensic, or mental health setting
  • Passionate about working with people with complex mental health needs
  • Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, aggression, sexual offending, and substance issues
