While our aim is to ensure continuity in your schedule, there may be occasional adjustments to accommodate on-take commitments and junior doctors' needs. But fear not, flexibility is key, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
Our paediatric department boasts a wide array of services, covering everything from maternity care to neonatal intensive care. With facilities located at Basildon and outpatient clinics at Orsett, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our community's children.

Doctor will be expected to show qualities of leadership but also to know their limitations and call for help and advice appropriatelyTrainees will also begin to work independentlyLiaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staffAttend to the day to day management of day case, out-patient and in-patientsAttend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetabledAttend general and specialist out-patient, diagnostic and pre-assessment clinicsTeach medical students as directedSupervise, monitor and assist the F2 doctors & ST1-2 in post take ward rounds as part of the rostered emergency workTo keep up-to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as requiredStudy for higher examinations and maintain continued professional development
