A leading healthcare provider in Swindon is seeking a Clinical Fellow ST4+ in Emergency Medicine. This role involves clinical care and education, with opportunities to complete a postgraduate certificate in medical education. The position is fixed-term for 12 months, focusing on both patient care and teaching within a dynamic environment.

This is an established role within the Emergency Department, encompassing education of the multidisciplinary team alongside two clinical nurse educators.
Funding is provided for successful candidates to complete a postgraduate certificate in medical education at the University of Bristol (link), tied to the successful completion of the 1-year contract. Equivalent studies will also be considered and funded similarly.
The Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre see approximately 130,000 attendances annually, with a separate Pediatric Emergency Department.
The department features a 6-bay resuscitation area, a 16-bay majors trolley area, an ambulatory majors area, a minor theatre, a plaster room, and a 4-bed observation area. The recent integrated front door project delivered a new Urgent Treatment Centre, Emergency Department, and Children's Emergency Unit.
50% of the post involves Emergency Medicine clinical care, providing experience and responsibility in managing patients and a busy department.

50% of the time will be dedicated to teaching and delivering simulation within the department, which has a strong educational ethos. Opportunities include in situ MDT simulation, tea-trolley teaching, social media, asynchronous learning, virtual/classroom teaching, and shop floor teaching. There may also be opportunities for simulation at the deanery and multiagency levels, with links to Severn Deanery, 999 services, and search and rescue.
