University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in General Medicine to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing medical cover for inpatients and offers the chance to gain significant experience while working alongside a talented multi-professional team in the Acute Medicine department. Great opportunity for those post Core-Medical Training looking for a pathway outside traditional training, aimed to meet individual career aspirations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in acute and general medicine at CT2 level for at least 12 months.
  • Experience working at ST3+ level in the NHS.
  • Flexibility and ability to work varied hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SpR-level medical cover for inpatients in Acute Medicine.
  • Cover on a full shift rota including long days, nights, and weekend shifts.
  • Participate as part of a multi-professional team.

Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in General Medicine

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our clinic team as we develop services within the Trust. Applicants will be expected to provide SpR-level (ST3+) medical cover for our inpatients in the department of Acute Medicine, working as part of a multi-professional team.

Main duties of the job

This post would be perfect for doctors post Core-Medical Training/at registrar level who are keen to take a break from training, and gain experience or qualifications in your area of interest. We have redesigned our trust doctor programme following feedback from previous cohorts. Our flexible model aims to meet the needs of doctors who have decided to break from training.

The general medical component of the job involves inclusion on a full shift rota with the Specialty Registrars. This is currently run over a 16-week period and includes long days on-call, nights, twilights and weekend discharge shifts

We are looking for someone to cover this post on a 1 or 2 year fixed term position

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in acute and general medicine at CT2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months with recent experience in the NHS
  • Experience in working at ST3+ level elsewhere
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in completion of Quality Improvement Projects
  • Bronze, Silver or Gold QI award
  • Competency in CMT procedural skills such as Lumbar puncture, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis etc

  • IT skills on all Microsoft packages
  • Previous leadership experience
