These roles will be located within the Children's Emergency Department or paediatric wards, including the Paediatric Critical Care Unit and Day Case Unit.
The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, known locally as the 'Alex', is developing as the children's hospital for the South East Coast region. Opened in 2007, it is a purpose-built facility designed by children, with children, for children and has won several major awards.
It brings together paediatric services at UHS and provides a first-class environment to continue developing a broad range of specialised services for children and young people alongside more general services for our local population.

The clinical duties include the day-to-day care of patients seen in the Children's Emergency Department and inpatient medical wards, Critical Care Unit, and Day Case Unit.
During the attachment at RACH, trainees gain experience in general paediatrics, encompassing paediatric medicine, paediatric surgery, ambulatory care, and emergency paediatrics. The experience is extensive and enriched by consultants with special interests. The consultant of the week provides close supervision and bedside teaching, leading daily ward rounds. Opportunities include outpatient clinics in general paediatrics and paediatric surgery, as well as specialised clinics run by local paediatricians and joint clinics with visiting consultants from teaching centres.
You will work a combination of day shifts, long days, night shifts, and weekends as part of a European Working Time Directive compliant rota of approximately 13 full-time equivalent staff.
