Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Basildon is seeking a motivated doctor for a full-time ST1/2 post on the assessment wards/Medical SDEC. You will participate in consultant ward rounds, ensure accurate medical notes, review drug prescriptions, and ensure timely GP discharge letters.

You will also contribute to teaching medical students, attend audit meetings, and work with an educational supervisor, supporting professional development in a dynamic NHS environment.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent from recognised medical school.
• This is a full-time post at ST1/2 level and attracts 1B Banding (40%).
• Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a population of 1.2 million people.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for patients on the assessment wards/Medical SDEC.
• Take part in consultant ward rounds and ensure notes are completed and prescriptions reviewed.
• Ensure GP discharge letters are completed and sent promptly.
• Support teaching of medical students and participate in audits and education events.
