The post-holder is expected to be available to help with all the departmental activities each day and will have duties related purely to the OG department during this time period. While contribution to the general surgical on-call service is not currently required, this may be subject to change during the fellowship. The exact timetable for the successful candidate will vary on a week-by-week basis depending on theatre case mix, staffing availability and expertise.
It is anticipated that the post-holder will teach more junior members of the team to do basic laparoscopic procedures. The post-holder will take part in the delivery of an acute OG on-call system under supervision of experienced consultant surgeons. The work intensity will vary depending on the number of clinics and lists running each week and a flexible approach is necessary in this situation.
