Clinical Fellow in Oncology

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly department in the heart of beautiful Cornwall. Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow in Oncology, commencing May 2025 for 12 months.

The junior fellow role is suitable for F3 doctors and requires full GMC registration with a licence to practice and demonstrable NHS experience.

These popular role will focus on the ongoing care in Acute Oncology Service/Haematology Oncology Day Assessment area and outpatients of cancer patients and works alongside a large team of Consultant, Specialist Registrars, General Practitioners and Allied Healthcare Professionals working in Oncology.

Main duties of the job

Acute Oncology Service

Day assessment unit - clinical review of patients attending assessment unit, undertaking of appropriate tests and administration of appropriate treatment.

Inpatient review - patients admitted to hospital where oncology review has been requested.

Headland (chemotherapy) unit:

Clinical review of patients attending for treatment where indicated.

Attendance of Oncology out-patient clinics.

The Fellow will:

Fulfil the duties of the weekly timetable.

Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of clinical Services.

Share with colleagues' responsibility for the day-to-day management of the patients within RCHT.

Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).

Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.

Attend meetings as appropriate.

Qualifications

1. MBBS or Equivalent
2. GMC registration and a Full license to practice
