An exciting opportunity exists for a Trust Grade Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University Hospitals of Leicester (NHS) Trust.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position, starting as soon as possible, with the possibility of extension.
The role is suitable for candidates with experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, capable of working at ST3 level or above. The post emphasizes developing and consolidating skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, contributing to governance, updating departmental policies, and opportunities to undertake ATSMs.
Successful candidates will have a named educational supervisor to facilitate training and development, with support to complete their CESR pathway via our established training programme. The role involves participation in the middle grade out-of-hours on-call rota (1:9 LRI / LGH), including weekends and weekdays.
Post holders will gain experience in clinical management, leadership, and governance, including root cause analysis and business case development, with a focus on progressing towards a consultant role.
The candidate will act as a middle-grade doctor capable of unsupervised duties under the direction of the department, working alongside Specialist Trainees. The programme includes antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, theatre sessions, and on-call duties covering all clinical aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology. Competence in managing emergencies is mandatory.
