A healthcare trust in the UK seeks a Clinical Fellow in MSK Radiology for a 12-month fixed-term position. The role includes participating in musculoskeletal imaging training, engaging in clinical research, and attending multidisciplinary team meetings. Candidates should have full GMC registration and relevant experience. This position offers extensive learning and development opportunities along with NHS benefits.
Applications are invited for a full-time fixed-term (12 months) Clinical Fellow in MSK Radiology. This is a 40-hour per week position.
This post commences on 05.08.2026 and ends on 03.08.2027.
The faculty is active in various clinical research projects, and the fellow will have the opportunity to complete a research project during their fellowship.
There are ample opportunities for teaching and research. Radiology Registrars from Oxford rotate through the Department, and as of this year, the training of 2 IR Fellows is shared with Oxford.
Qualifications required are full GMC registration and relevant specialist experience.
Many clinical services have recently been reconfigured across the Trust, with most acute services localized at Stoke Mandeville. Wycombe remains the acute site for Cardiology and Hyper Acute Stroke, serving Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
The Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship is a clinical and research program based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC), one of the largest spinal injury centres in the world.
The fellow will participate in an intensive training program in musculoskeletal imaging, including plain film radiographs, ultrasound, CT and MRI, image-guided interventions, arthrography, percutaneous bone biopsy, and complex spinal interventions such as vertebroplasty and spinal ablation.
The fellow will be involved in novel techniques like dynamic MDCT for spinal stability and exposed to a wide range of pathologies.
Opportunities include attending weekly Musculoskeletal MDT meetings, Spinal Orthopaedic MDT, Spinal Injury MDT at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, and the regional Sarcoma MDT at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in Oxford.
Fellowship training is enhanced through collaboration with orthopaedic surgical staff and rheumatology department members. This includes attending theatre sessions with Mr Stuart Blagg, former President of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, and collaborating on research projects with spinal orthopaedic fellows.
