Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine
(Fixed term 12 months)
Applications are invited for this post in Geriatric Medicine. This position supports the care of patients on our assessment and rehabilitation ward. This 21-bed ward offers a unique combination of general, stroke, and orthogeriatric rehabilitation. We also provide specialized rehabilitation for patients with paraplegia or amputations, close to their homes.
We are a small 41-bed hospital serving a population of 35,000 in a remote area. As a small team, we provide continuity of care for people living with frailty, many of whom have recurrent hospital admissions. We aim to build long-term relationships with patients and their families throughout their journey with frailty.
The postholder will assist with front door frailty assessment and review of adults with longer predicted hospital stays in the admissions ward.
You will have the opportunity to develop clinical skills in geriatric medicine and practice them regularly.
In addition to clinical management, the role includes opportunities in quality improvement and teaching.
The postholder will join a friendly, forward-thinking team that values a supportive working environment.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice and at least two years of full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent experience), including part-time or flexible training, or possess equivalent competencies.
