A leading NHS Trust in Wolverhampton is inviting expressions of interest for their Clinical Fellowship Programme in General Surgery. This role is offered at Foundation Year 2 level, focusing on clinical projects leading to presentations and publications, alongside educational support for a Masters qualification. Candidates must demonstrate an appropriate IELTS/OETS test score for GMC sponsorship. The post encourages participation in quality improvement projects and development of teaching or research skills.
Expressions of interest are invited for our Clinical Fellowship Programme in General Surgery. We have 1 vacancy commencing at the earliest opportunity.
Appointments are for 12 months initially, with the option to extend for a further 12 months based on satisfactory performance and progression. The position is offered at Foundation Year 2 level.
Although this is a non-training post, there will be direct supervision by a Consultant and an educational programme, including annual appraisal, 4-monthly supervisor meetings, access to an e-portfolio, and study leave. The programme also includes protected teaching time and various clinical training activities.
The postholder will be encouraged to register for a Masters qualification in surgery or a related sub-specialty with our partner, the Postgraduate Medical School at the University of Wolverhampton Academic Institute Of Medicine. Satisfactory progress will be supported with full funding and protected time. The role includes undertaking a clinical project leading to presentations and publications.

The postholder will be encouraged to undertake audit and quality improvement projects and supported to pursue Membership examinations in their chosen specialty. Opportunities to develop teaching or research skills are also available.
