An exciting opportunity for a Fellow at a leading healthcare institution focused on invasive fungal disease management. This role combines 90% research and 10% clinical duties, with responsibilities including developing electronic health systems and analyzing antifungal stewardship data. Predominantly based in renowned hospitals, the fellowship aims to enhance training and skills in clinical analytics and digital health interventions.
The post is based in the Imperial College Infection Service, primarily between Charing Cross Hospital (Medical Mycology Laboratory) and Hammersmith (Immunocompromised patient groups). The Trust Fellowship is 90% Research and 10% Clinical, providing exposure to all aspects of fungal disease clinically and from a research perspective. The primary aim is to develop a clinical analytic electronic healthcare record data platform to enable systematic antifungal stewardship data capture, analytics, patient identification, and digital health interventions. This offers an excellent opportunity for sub-specialist training in invasive fungal disease management, antifungal stewardship, digital health, and clinical analytics.
The Fellow will conduct a retrospective 3-year analysis of patients with invasive fungal disease during the COVID era and develop a real-world prospective analysis linked to an antifungal dashboard, facilitating real-time data collection for antifungal stewardship.
The program is supported by a multidisciplinary antifungal stewardship team including Meg Coleman (Respiratory), Darius Armstrong-James (Medical Mycology), Mark Gilchrist, and Richard Wilson (Pharmacy).
The Fellow will allocate 90% of their time to research and 10% to clinical duties, primarily supporting the Fungal MDT and antifungal stewardship. Flexibility is available to accommodate the candidate's interests. The main focus will be on developing electronic health systems for antifungal stewardship and analyzing data related to prescribing, diagnostics, and outcomes in fungal disease populations.
