Overview

This post offers the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience within the Specialist field of Parenteral Nutrition support, managing patients with Intestinal Failure within a specialist unit, as well as wider areas of Surgical Practice. We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

A new joint medical/surgical Intestinal Failure Unit has been established in Newcastle, serving the local and wider population of North East England and Cumbria. This post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience within this Specialist field of Nutrition support as well as wider areas of Surgery.

Applicants must have experience working within the NHS and have completed the UK Foundation training programme. The successful candidate will demonstrate skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams and a strong grasp of hospital care of patients with complex medical and surgical problems. They will possess strong organisational and communication skills and be willing to participate in the wider delivery of gastroenterology and medical care in Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHSFT by contributing to oncall surgical rota and departmental clinical governance activity.
