This full time post is aimed surgical trainees who have finished their core surgical training and want to spend time in gaining more clinical experience in general surgery and is for a minimum period of 6 months extendable to 12 months.

This post will provide benign upper GI surgery training (with an emphasis on laparoscopic surgery, including biliary surgery) to prepare the post holder for taking-up independent practice as a future consultant.

Main duties of the job

The trainee will be attached to the Oseaphagastric team and be responsible for attending theatres, outpatients, endoscopy lists and on call commitments. The primary function will be supporting the delivery of the benign upper GI surgery service.

This post will support the development of benign daycase operating at the newly built elective care centre in North Bristol.
