A leading healthcare trust in London seeks a Senior Registrar for the clinical management of patients with uterine fibroids. Excellent opportunity for ST5 or above, with research ties to Imperial College London. Successful candidates will make an important contribution at a senior registrar level to the clinical management of patients presenting with uterine fibroids. These patients will often have been referred from other units across the country to take advantage of the expertise and novel treatment on offer at St Mary's Hospital. The fellowship would be most suitable for candidates ST5 or above. The post will be for one year but may be extended. There may be the option of pursuing a further research degree for motivated and dedicated candidates.
A typical weekly timetable will be as follows, with an out-of-hours commitment to general obstetrics & gynaecology (usually a 1:9 rota with a split week on call):

There are strong academic and research ties with the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. The Clinical Fellow will be encouraged to develop research projects and contribute to existing research. There may be an option to pursue a further research degree for motivated candidates.
The appointed doctor will also be involved in the specialist recurrent miscarriage service and the management of couples presenting with recurrent miscarriage.
Opportunities exist to develop special interest skills in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The department provides a full range of services including feto-maternal medicine, complex benign surgery, minimal access surgery, colposcopy, urogynaecology, and emergency gynaecology.
In addition, there is a full on-call commitment at 1:9, which is well supported.
