A leading healthcare provider in Leeds is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. This role involves managing patients, attending outpatient clinics, and participating in audits. Candidates should have completed IMT2 and possess an MBBS or equivalent. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a specialized field with no on-call commitment.
We are inviting applications to fill a Clinical Fellow vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Department of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD).
This post will commence on 6th August 2025 and will be for 1 year.
This post is suitable for candidates who have completed IMT2 (or equivalent).
Essential qualifications: MBBS or equivalent.
Essential experience: Core Training in General Medicine or equivalent. The post would suit a candidate either with some Cardiology experience who wishes to gain specific experience in ACHD, or a candidate with little or no experience in Cardiology who is looking to pursue Cardiology as a career. Many previous fellows have successfully moved from this post to a formal Cardiology training scheme. This post carries no on-call commitment.
Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.

This post will include managing patients on the ward, attending outpatient clinics, post-operative management of patients, discussions with relatives, coordination of MDTs, and exposure to operating theatres and catheter labs. Involvement in audit and research is encouraged.

We have over 20 inpatient wards, employ over 800 nurses, and last year held over 170,000 outpatient appointments and treated over 25,000 surgical patients both electively and non-electively.

The ACHD team works closely with the paediatric cardiology team and adult acquired cardiologists, with links to obstetrics and fetal-maternal medicine departments.
