Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior Post CCT) in Paediatric Ophthalmology to commence 5 Aug 2026 to 3 Aug 2027.

The Addenbrooke’s Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus team runs a busy and interesting service. The service is led by Miss Louise Allen, Miss Brinda Muthusamy, Mr John Somner, Miss Elena Novitskaya and Mr Tony Vivian, with the Fellowship offering the optimum training combination of specialist regional work such as congenital cataract, glaucoma, ROP management, genetics and paediatric neuro-ophthalmology in addition to plenty of child & adult squint management.

Main duties of the job

Applicants should be in possession of the FRCOphth or equivalent.

The post is fully funded and will include a primary care, emergency service and on-call commitment at Addenbrooke’s. Research will be encouraged.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
