Clinical Engineering Support / Driver

The closing date is 02 July 2025

Supervised by the Chief Technician, the post holder will work closely with Clinical Engineering Department to provide decontamination, assembling, and testing a wide range of medical bed mattresses. The post holder will also be required to support the wider engineering team, with regards to equipment transportation, the receipting / transportation of medical devices and consumables, and with the day-to-day functions in the warehouse / workshop environment.

Please be aware that as this role requires you to drive Trust vehicles you must hold a full UK driving licence and be over the age of 19 in order to comply with the Trust's insurance requirements.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To achieve competency in the inspection and processing of mattresses in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance.
  • Ensure manufacturer's guidelines and local policies for decontamination processes are followed.
  • To achieve competency in the repairing and assembling of mattresses.
  • To organise work in an efficient and effective way, prioritising the workflow to meet deadlines depending on customer's requirements to ensure that the user's services function without disruption.
  • To ensure that all equipment is working satisfactorily, maintaining records of all daily checks that are carried out and any breakdowns that occur.
  • Take receipt of equipment deliveries and dismantle boxes for recycling.
  • Support with any loading and unloading of equipment from vehicles.
  • The post holder will be required to enter data onto the asset management system.
  • Assisting the administration team with preparing and issuing medical devices and consumables to other NCHC services, and directly to patients.
  • Receiving deliveries at Red House, checking contents and forwarding on paperwork to the administration team
  • Demonstrate a courteous and helpful approach to visitors and colleagues.
