Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Practice Teacher/Clinical Educator (School Nursing) for their Integrated Healthy Families Team. The role focuses on education, leadership, and development of specialist community clinicians, based in Nottinghamshire with duties across districts.

The post involves leading educational initiatives, supervising staff, and collaborating with HEIs to advance postgraduate learning in public health nursing.

Qualifications

• 1st level Registration with current NMC registration.
• Specialist qualification in specialist field; BSc Hons Community Specialist Public Health School Nursing.
• PG/Cert IPPE/NMC recorded qualified teacher or Practice Teacher module 7 or equivalent to masters level.
• NMC recorded Nurse Prescriber V100 or V150.
• Evidence of further professional development (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Manage their discipline specific team at base, working to meet the needs of the resident population including clients with continuing healthcare needs, the promotion of self‑care and health and wellbeing or work in a capacity to have clinical input.
• To supervise, develop and support other professional colleagues and staff
• To assess and monitor competency in order to maintain quality services
• To teach qualified and unqualified staff
• To work with managers in the development of services to meet the changing needs of the resident population, including the response to professional issues as they arise
• To work with the Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) and the organisation in the practical development of nurses undertaking Post Graduate education, assessing and facilitating learning in order to attain professional competence through experience in practice.
• Provide learning opportunities that are underpinned by evidence‑based practice and linked to those of the HEI, other educational providers and the employing organisations.
• To promote practice development in order to raise professional standards in line with Government policy and the changing needs of the NHS
