Job summary

The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced midwife to join as Clinical Educator Support Midwife. This role supports Band 5 midwives in their first year of practice with clinical, professional and pastoral guidance.

You will work with the Practice Education Team and other stakeholders to develop the workforce and ensure high standards of care across maternity services. The role is a 12 month fixed term contract and involves flexible on-call commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting junior staff and students in midwifery.
• Ability to translate knowledge into confident clinical decisions.
• Evidence of professional guidance and development in maternity services.

Responsibilities

• Support Band 5 midwives in their first year of practice with clinical, professional and pastoral guidance.
• Promote adherence to current guidelines, policies and standards across maternity services.
• Collaborate with Practice Education Team, Advocates, Matrons and Preceptors to develop the workforce.
• Foster positive experiences and high standards of practice across the department.
