Job description

Up to £82,500 DOE

Welcome Bonus up to £3,000

Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Clinical Director to join our established and dedicated team. You will be responsible for 4 sites; we're flexible on the site you're based at, but travel across all sites would be required.

Our sites:

  1. South Devon Veterinary Hospital
  2. Kingsteignton Veterinary Practice
  3. Powderham Vets - Torquay (due to reopen)
  4. Powderham Vets - Newton Abbot (due to reopen)

As Clinical Director, you'll lead and support the development of the group's clinical service with the support of our Practice Director. In addition to this, you'll experience diverse cases, help lead our clinical team, operations, and have the opportunity to develop the Referral Service Offering and the Hospital In-patient service.

Our Group's vision is to provide the very best service, facilities, and clinical care for the patients we see, whilst caring for ourselves as well. We want every team member to understand the contribution they can make to achieve our business and personal goals in a positive, supportive environment.

Work-life balance that tips the scale

We would welcome both full-time and part-time applicants. Typically, the full-time position is over 4/5 days with a share of the weekend rota (1 in 6 Saturday mornings). However, we know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career, and we want to make it easy for you to strike the right balance; therefore, let us know what you are looking for, and we will be happy to discuss.

Where we are

Our close-knit group of PSS accredited practices has been established for over 30 years. We have 4 sites located in and around the Newton Abbot area, and one site in the ‘English Riviera' town of Torquay, perfectly placed between the stunning, wind-swept moors of Dartmoor and the gorgeous beaches of the South Devon coast. You'll find us at the end of the M5 Motorway, with easy access to direct trains to Exeter, Bristol, London, and Cornwall.

South Devon Vet Hospital provides 24-hour in-patient care and has a range of state-of-the-art equipment including a medical-grade CT Scanner, Ultrasound suite, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray & comprehensive Orthopaedic, Endoscopic, and Laparoscopic kit to support our service offering.

Who we are

We are passionate people - it's all about what we do and how we do it - we are most definitely not afraid to think creatively about practice life & how we can make each day that little bit better for everyone.

We have a team of talented Vets, supported by a dedicated Nurse team, led by our Practice Managers & Practice Director. Our nurses (many of whom are certificate holders with special interests) assist the vets in clinics to maximize patient care and client support opportunities, as well as running a comprehensive range of Nurse Clinics. We see a wide variety of clients and cases; our South Devon Veterinary Hospital and Referral Centre operates a Diplomat-led Ophthalmology referral service amongst other referral disciplines.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Veterinary Surgeon who has previous management experience.
