Job description

This is a great opportunity to take on a Clinical Director of Anaesthesia role in a lovely part of central Queensland.

The Role
The Clinical Director, as a part of the clinical executive leads, manages the Gladstone and Banana Anaesthesia team enabling high quality, contemporary services integrated within the clinical services framework of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). Liaison and coordination with other clinical departments is critical as is on-going service development and teaching to provide for a sustainable service.

The position provides strategic leadership and direction, service planning, effective management and provision of anaesthesia and HDU services. The role will also be responsible for the quality, cost efficiency and effective delivery of anaesthesia at Gladstone Hospital and professional support to other locations within the CQHHS.

Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).

The Hospital and Location
Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Service, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology and outreach/community-based facilities, as well as a Primary Health Care Centre located at Boyne Valley and the newly acquired West Wing (formerly Gladstone Mater) offering extended medical and surgical services inclusive of private specialist care. Gladstone Hospital has approximately 392 full time equivalent staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
