Job description

Clinical Director - North London

Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon with a passion for clinical excellence, leadership, and innovation? An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Director to take the lead at a brand-new, purpose-built small animal practice in the vibrant London borough of Haringey.

This is your chance to step into a pivotal role where your expertise will shape the future of a modern, forward-thinking practice. Located in one of North London’s most desirable neighbourhoods—lined with independent boutiques, artisan cafés, gourmet delis, and a diverse range of restaurants—this urban village setting offers a wonderful work-life balance in a buzzing, community-focused environment.

The practice is part of a well-established and proudly independent group with multiple locations across London, known for delivering exceptional care while fostering a culture of collaboration, support, and clinical freedom. The new practice is designed with both patient comfort and clinical excellence in mind, featuring spacious consultation and surgical areas, the latest diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and advanced dental facilities. Everything you need to practice at the highest level is right at your fingertips.

As Clinical Director, you will lead on all aspects of clinic performance—clinical, operational, financial, and people—while being fully supported by a knowledgeable leadership team. You will have genuine autonomy to implement your vision and drive the strategic development of the clinic. A key part of your role will be mentoring and guiding the veterinary team, collaborating with the Nursing Director and Practice Director to ensure a cohesive, motivated, and high-performing team culture.

You will oversee clinical standards, maintain compliance, and lead quality improvement, while also playing a vital role in recruitment, HR, client engagement, marketing, and business development. Your leadership will ensure an outstanding client experience, the delivery of gold-standard patient care, and a supportive and inspiring workplace for your team.

This role is ideal for a confident and ambitious veterinary surgeon who is ready to take their career to the next level in a role where you can make a real and lasting impact. Whether you’ve held a leadership position before or you’re looking for your first Clinical Director role and feel ready for the challenge, we want to hear from you.
